The offensive continues. Elf even gets to melee with one of the soldiers, though it turns out she only has a baton equipped. Someday, Elf — someday you will stab some dudes. By the end of a single round, we’ve cleared the room out completely.

The results of the mission are in: Seems the German officer we “captured” has been receiving orders from a Major Newhouse — one of our guys. Which means we’ve got a traitor.

I will be your commanding officer for the duration of this important mission. The war effort may very well be determined by the success or failure of our efforts. I ain’t never heard of any SE2. Despite the long pause between posts, I assure you the journey back to base was quite a bit shorter. In fact, it took all of five seconds. The future is now! We find ourselves alone in the foyer. No welcoming committee or nothin’. So much for being greeted as a hero upon our return. Is anyone even home? This starred door looks important! Bogey busts in like the boss he is and finds himself in Colonel We-Have-All-Died-in-Vain’s office. So much for that sentiment, huh? He sure recovered quick, and apparently he’s been waiting for us.

Our journey has to begin somewhere, and what more fitting place to begin than a character creation screen? Here’s our hero, Bogdan Yeromeyev. He’s a member of… whatever organization this is that apparently enlists soldiers from every Allied nation on Earth. I’m guessing they’re basically the Monuments Men, except they’re trying to rescue alien ray guns instead of paintings.

I know you’ve all been waiting for this. The legend. The one; the only. It’s time for… some game you’ve never heard of. Silent Storm! You’ve never heard of it; I’ve never heard of it, but I’m here to tell you — it’s awesome. No — fantastic. No, wait — ballin’. I picked it up for a couple bucks on GoG based solely on the blurb and a few screenshots. The verdict? Probably the best videogame impulse buy I’ve ever made, and I’ve lucked out pretty hard with those types of deals. So, what kind of game is this? Here’s
